Roadblocks Happen — And That’s OK

Sometimes, no matter how dedicated we are, life throws us a curveball. For me that happened a few weeks ago - a sprained ankle. And to boot (ha) - my first ever.

I was on a roll—getting my steps in, feeling good, seeing progress. Then, bam. One wrong move and suddenly I’m sidelined, unable to keep up my usual activity. It was frustrating. I felt like all my momentum had come to a screeching halt.

But here’s what I’ve learned: roadblocks aren’t failures

They’re just part of life.

It’s OK to Pause for Healing (repeat that with me).

Old me would’ve panicked - “I’m going to lose all my progress!”

But now, I’m learning to shift my mindset.

Healing ISN'T going backward.

Rest ISN'T quitting.

Progress isn’t always visible, and that’s okay.

Sometimes the most important work we can do is listen to our bodies, allow time to recover, and give ourselves permission to pause.

Rolling with the Punches

This journey isn’t a straight line. There will always be bumps, setbacks, and unexpected pauses. What matters is how we respond to them.

Do we beat ourselves up for things out of our control?

Or do we give ourselves grace and adjust as needed?

This time, I chose grace.

I’m focusing on what I can do—nourish my body, stay mindful of my goals, and be patient with the process.

Progress Over Perfection, Always

Roadblocks will come. Life will get messy. But every step (or pause) is part of the bigger journey.

If you’re facing your own setback right now, hear this: You’re not failing. You’re human. And healing counts as progress too.

Let’s keep going—imperfectly, but consistently.
